Your heart is pounding in your chest.

 

     You want to run but your legs won’t move

      and you are in the middle of an important meeting.

 

            Perspiration is beading on your brow.

 

                  Do the people around you see and know what is happening to you?

 

                        You keep very quiet hoping no one will notice.

Panic attacks! Why do you keep having them? There is no logical reason for you to feel this way. They hit you in your car, the grocery store, at work or even out to dinner with friends. These attacks are wrecking havoc on your life. You find that you avoid social situations where you fear your secret may be revealed.

 

You’ve been to the doctor and even to the emergency room sure you are having a heart attack only to be told that you are only having a panic attack. Only a panic attack, they say as if it were nothing, as if you had some control over the situation.
