The 10 Second Stress Buster
Step 1
Smile as you think to yourself
I am ready to pitch this feeling of ____________________
Imagine wadding up the feeling and pitching it across the room
Step 2
Take a slow, deep belly breath
6 counts each on the inhale and the exhale
Step 3
Take another deep belly breath
Close your eyes at the top of the inhalation
As you exhale….imagine (visualize or feel) a warm relaxing energy entering your body at the top of your head…. And flowing all the way down to your toes
Think to yourself I am Calm
Step 4 Open your eyes and feel the calm
Do you have to answer the phone a lot? Irritable or unpleasant callers? Start at step three when the phone rings; before you pick it up. Then after the conversation do the complete routine.
